I had the weirdest dream last night. I dreamt I was in bed and had a bottle of tequila standing next to me. I woke up thirsty (this is in my dream) and poured a shot and took it. Only then did I realize what I had done and I thought "oh no!! I thought it was water! now I have to change my sobriety date! what are the people at the soberrecovery forum gonna think! I bet they're gonna tell me not to keep my tequila next to my bed!" Then I woke up. Just thought I'd share that.

I've also had similar dreams where I dreamed that I lost my sobriety. Here's the deal..........when we dream that we drink or use, it is a sign that we are sober. I never once dreamed of drinking while I was actually drinking. Never happened.

I too had drunk dreams in early recovery. As I stayed sober they did get further and further apart. I believe they are brought on by stress. As my life in sobriety became less stressful, the dreams disappeared. I don't believe I have had one now for about 5 or 6 years. I also found, upon waking in a panic and then realizing it was just a dream, that they were a very good reminder why I no longer drank. J M H O Love and hugs,

I get dreams like that, no where near as often as I used to. I had one very similar to yours only I was pouring a water glass full of vodka hoping my wife would not notice who in the dream was in bed next to me. The odd thing is I very rarely drank vodka.
