Emimily thanks for beaming your rays of big sunlight our way! I too have been on a good set of waves this past week or so. life is still happening and its not all easy but it sure is GOOD!!! I'm noticing how my relationships arre all fulfilling and healthy. Thats new. I remember when NONE of my rels were fulfilling, and my sponsor pointed out that the common denominator in them was ME. so, perhaps where I'm at now is a little progress. Unless, the whole world also, coincidentally just got happy. Wouldn't that be awesome!?

enthusiasm is contagious! I did some praying Friday morning and went to work.I try and talk with a few AA`S during the day since I am a truck driver and have the time.I did have the chance to do that. After work i came home, jumped in my little ole swimming pool for a while, and stayed home from the meeting with my wife. Our kids came over later and we had a pretty good time. Saturday morning I got up at 6:00 and made my weekly 7 AM online meeting with my 4 friends,we call it the H.O.P (hour of power) meeting.I had the chance to talk with several AA friends Saturday also.I did some business and then went ot the grocery store with my wife and got things ready for the Sunday cookout. I bought 3 racks of ribs, fixins for baked beans.Got the stuff for the ABT`s (I will not tell you what that means in public, only private,so if ya wanna know,pm me..lol) My wife and I spent some really good time together Friday and saturday, and it was great.I really love that gal a lot! Dot up Sunday morning and made mt Sunday morning 7 am HOP meeting.. got busy cooking and later the kids came over and we had a good time.We all hit the pool and enjoyed our day. During this weekend,I managed to listen to Ed M from Davenport,Iowa do a workshop on forgiveness. It was great. If you haven`t heard it,I recommend it. I also took some time to reflect on my Dad who passed away in 1990 and my Father in law who passed away in 1999.I thought about the great times we had together and how much they influenced my life for the better, and I got gratefull for them. all in all,it was a awesome weekend for me too. Glad to see you younger folks in the program doing so well Emimily! Life is good and I have never had it so good!

Sorry you only have one crazy dog, I have 5 and the cats we will not discuss!!! LOL Emimily great share and gratitude. I was off Friday thru Monday. Friday was a good day, I found energy to work on a project I have been putting off to long and then went to a fantastic speakers meeting, this lady was awesome, she shared her story via the steps!!!! Saturday more work on the project and wife and I watched movies on and off all day. Sunday got Fathers day cards, took my twins with me to celebrate Fathers day with my 3 oldest kids and 6 of my grandkids........... more cards and excellent food!!! The twins (16) were just awesome, we sang together to the radion coming and going, not a cross word was spoken by any one the whole day! Awesome Fathers day!!! Monday worked on the project more, got stung by a hornet, my hand is still pretty swollen and sore (The one bad thing), I cooked some steaks for dinner that came out well!!! Thanks for this thread...... I am smiling again.

owch on the hornet sting, taz... those suckers are bad news bear. it struck me today when i was cruising through the new posts how negative things get here sometimes, and man... like miss cat said, life is still life. it still shows up some days with claws bared, but there's SO much to be grateful for today. meeting life head on is enough to keep me smilin on most days. i don't know. i was just hit with that.

The very best thing that happened in my life recently... My addicted son....missing for 14 years ... surfaced. He is now going to live and work near my daughter and her family. He called me twice and was sober...sounded good. My prayers are that this is the time for him to recover. Forward we go...side by side... |

| Congrats, Carol! That's an awsome development... The best things lately in my life to report have been that my days have been relatively uneventful (in the negative sense). That’s not to say that nothing has been going on, but I haven’t had the need to get my knickers out of a wad for awhile now. My hubby just had surgery on both knees to repair the meniscus and he came through it with flying colors. My son is enjoying life as a new high school graduate and we’ll all be headed south soon on a well deserved vacation. Although we’ve taken a hit in our financial zone, college costs loom on the horizon, and my job will be made all the harder due to a backslide of sorts in one area on the academic excellence indicators, there is nothing that has shaken either my faith or effects my serenity level. I know that things are going as they are meant to go and all I have to do today is suit up and show up for duty. My Higher Power has guided me through rougher waters than this many times in the past. It is my sincere hope that all of you have a wonderful summer and have lots of good things to report as we go along. Here is wishing all you Dads a (belated) Happy Fathers’ Day! And from one of His more problematic children, a Happy (Belated) Father’s Day wish to my Higher Power! Boy, does He ever deserve it!

carol... awesome about your son! i got sober with my mom by my side, and i can't tell you how much it helped me to know that she had my back the whole time. very cool... i'm going to yoga today, and i'm super stoked about it. haven't been in 3 days, plus i've been smoking cigarettes, blechh... it'll be good to go move my body and sweat it out. plus, my sponsee's meeting me up there for that class, and i think our friend liz is coming too. rawsome!

Well let's see. I have one more car payment and my truck is paid off. I'm going to be a uncle. My little sister is a woman and will be a mommy to her first child, a boy!!! Oh yeah, and I'm getting married on Auguest 9th. Two weeks before my sisters due date. It is in fact possible that that day could be a wedding and a birthday! Busy, busy summer. I'm grateful to be alive and sober to live it. Tom |

What a great post!! I wrecked my car last month...4 more payments and it would have been paid off. Get home and find out my insurance was cancelled because I forgot to pay the bill Sounds bad, right? Go to the finance company I had my car through, explained the situation (I didn't want to have to continue insurance on a non-drivable car!) Was put in a 2004 Ford Taurus, that other than mileage is like brand new!!! No down payment, payments are $2 less than what I was paying, interest rate is still high but they dropped it 3%. I still have to see if the guy I hit's insurance will come after me for repairs (body shop said $1700 but I think that's way overpriced...damage was minimal), but it's okay...I'll work out another payment plan. I get in my car every night and can't believe how nice it is...the other one would have been paid off, but it was falling apart. Oh, and the cop who wrote up the wreck...another angel. My insurance had only been cancelled for 3 days, and my record wasn't "flagged". So, he wrote me a ticket for "driving too fast for conditions"...said it should be a 4-point ticket, he gave me 2 points...fine should have been $190, he gave me $128. I had to stay at a store, for a while, waiting for my stepbrother and his aunt to come get me. I was out of state, but just so happened I was 20 miles from them. The cop came and checked on me, to make sure I was okay Life is good!! Hugs and prayers! Amy

Well, there's this... West Coast sees days of fun, summertime surf -- with more to come, SOUTHERN HEMI-MANIA | Surfline "Recap: WEDNESDAY- Yet another SW swell moved in today as older SW swell was easing and mixing in with modest NW windswell. The better breaks picked up waist-chest-shoulder high surf, while top breaks in Orange County hit head high to overhead on the best sets. Brief Outlook: The current SW swell holds on Thursday before fading Friday. New SSW swell picks up Friday afternoon and into Saturday. Modest NW windswell continues for the next couple days before possibly picking up by the end of the weekend. " I think I will be waterlogged by Sunday...only a couple times a year that SSW swell decides to treat us (not to mention it's VERY warm out this week - even on the coast).. |
