| How can you afford not go to meetings?
Through every AA meeting room door in the world, there is the opportunity to find a new life for the still suffering Alcoholic. Regardless of who you are, there is one necessary ingredient for success; willingness. Through every AA meeting room door in the world, there is the one best opportunity to find a new life for the still suffering Alcoholic. Regardless of who you are, there is one necessary ingredient for success; willingness. If you are not willing to consider the suggestions for a new life, how can you possible recover from a seemingly hopeless malady on your own? How can any of us get the life saving and life giving message if we are not in the rooms where the miracle resides? This is a miracle of people sharing how they changed from the dark to the light and who are willing to lead you to it as well. AA is for Alcoholics only. Members of Alcoholics Anonymous are skilled only in recovery from Alcoholism; we are not Financial Advisers, Marriage Counselors or Probation Officers in the rooms of AA. You will not find perfection in an AA member or in an AA meeting. Many of us are still in the process of recovery, so seek out those who have found the victory in a new life; look for consistency in those you would have lead you in recovery. Stay committed to the hope of having a future that is free not only of the booze, but of the insanity that is an unmanageable life. Be resolute and willing; those who have found the journey to worth every second away from the pain, guilt shame and suffering of the past. Throw away your excuses, you do not need to hide behind them anymore and stand in the light of a new day with your new friends and companions. Make a decision to go to a meeting, make a decision to live, make a decision to be free.
