Wilson House - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

Has anyone ever heard or has anyone been to the Wilson House in Dorset, Vermont? Very curious. Would like info on it. I have all of the literature on the scheduled speakers, forums, etc. but would like to know if anyone else has heard of it. Thanks in advance.

I've been there a couple of times. We actually went there one Friday night and had a nice dinner followed by a great meeting. While there I ran into a guy that had been integral to my early sobriety. I hadn't seen him in years. It was a very cool experience.
I don't know if they still do the dinner and a meeting thing, but i'm going to check if they do. Its about three hours from Boston and might be a great way to spend a fall Friday evening.
They have retreats and stuff, but I've never been to one of those. Maybe I should check one out. I hope you go. If you do, let us know how it went.

Thanks Mike for the info. I just heard from another person on another forum that it was quite a great place. I have gone on to the site quite often to check it out. Its just the fact of going there alone that keeps me from looking into their seminars. There is a list on http://www.wilsonhouse.org/. There is a good one next week but I am unable to attend due to prior commitment. Will go to Mapquest or Google Search to see just how far it is from my place in Rhode Island.

Sounds like you had a positive time when you went there. Did you stay there or did you go home after the meeting?

I would think it is about the same as from Boston. About 2 1/2 hours.
If you think to go in the fall, I would say get reservations now. Foliage season will have places booked up fast.

Hi Sue,
We actually drove further into Vermont after the meeting on our way to fort ticonderoga in New york that time. Another time we just drove up and then back. It was a lot of fun.
