Prayer request, everyone !!!

Forest fires are raging up here, right around butte.

There's several homes in danger right now who are people in my group.
They were served involuntary evacuation papers yesterday.
Last night - HUGE lightning storms, right down there.

This morning - three new fires.
I could see them from my house.

Several members of the group - called out to firefight.

If you could just throw us in your P&M for a couple of days.

Your prayers always seem to work so well.

I don't mean to make it sound like the town is in danger - it isn't. It's in the national forest AROUND the continental divide ... and the little 'bergs' that are there. like, out where I USED to live... it's creepy to walk aoutside and smell the smoke, though. or to stand on the front porch ... and see smoke form the south like that. and it's windy as heck today.

Yeah, wildfires. Being a life long resident of So Cal, I've seen a "few".

My thoughts and prayers will be with you at this time. I wish I could send some of the rain we've had here in Central Texas to you. Flash flooding in this part of the country are our worries and I'll be traveling through some of the worst hit areas tomorrow. However, I will remember you and yours as I drive.

Keep safe and get the heck out of there if it starts to threaten where you are at. Material stuff can be replaced. You can't!

Last year around this time we couldn't get on the lake to go fishing because the boat ramps were too far out of the water. We were suffering from a several year drought. Everyone around here was praying for rain. Me included. We should have been more specific I think. Now we can't get on the lake to go fishing because all the boat ramps are under water. A friend and I launched the boat from a road bed that was under water in one of the parks. Who would have thought that this would be the case one year later.

To top it off, today it has started raining... again! My toes are now webbed. My hair has changed to the color of mildew. I'm very tired of it and would gladly send it to anyone who would claim it.

At the meeting yesterday ... one of the women who're getting evacuated was in, and she's got a few years in the Program. The entire time she spoke, I was thinking to myself, 'that's who I want to be like when I grow up' ...

... here she was, getting evacuated (tomorrow, I think) off her family ranch ... three generations of memories and history, and she was so ... peaceful. She'd handed it all to HP and was actually, TRULY content within HP's Will.

The grace. Her poise ... was an inspiration.

She said, how do you look at things your great Grandfather made by hand, and choose what to take with you? Her Grandmother's wedding dress that she, and her dughter got married in ... she said, ' I'm taking the animals, my pictures, my clothes ... and that's it. God's Will Be Done.'

Wow.

And when she said, 'God's Will Be Done' ... she really meant it.

I was (and am ) in AWE of this Program. And of her.

ok - we've just had five members of the group called to fire duty ... they're going to that bad one on the Idaho border.

I learned the evacuation was postponed - but the fire is still not completely contained ... something like only 35% (as of the meeting tonight)

I've had folks asking me for updates ...


when I got home from work this morning - I couldn't see the mountain range to the west of here. The world ended in a wall of dark grey that went all the way up.

Spooky.

Still miles and miles from butte (about 40) but ... wow.
