A Simple Program: A Contemporary Translation of the Book Alcoholics Anonymous

Has anyone read this? Apparently it's the big book rewritten in contemporary language.

Question What?

We need a translation of this already simple book (the 4th edition of which has recently been printed)? Does it help in any way?

what is the title?
googled "A Contemporary Translation of the Book Alcoholics Anonymous"

the annotated AA handbook:a companion to the big book
http://users.erols.com/peterbb/recover.htm

etc.
too many to paste

but
the big book is THE BIG BOOK
you need no others

Thanks for the replies. I have to say that I find the language used in the big book difficult to understand, it's very 'modernist' (basically it's old fashioned) in addition to having a lot of American slang in that I don't understand as I'm British. I feel a revised edition might appeal to a broader public, particularly younger people. I've been told NA literature is more up to date, I will take a look at it and see how it varies.

I bet you didnt like the chapter "To Wives"!

It is very outdated really in the way it is written and very male-biased. But I just accept that it was written when it was and you can guess what things mean from the context.

Read the original big book first.....no need for contempt prior to investigation.

I've read most of the original book and my thoughts still stand about the language being outdated, including the stories section. I'm not in contempt of the writing, I understand it has helped many people, I am purely saying how I feel about the language and how difficult it is to understand from my perspective, and I'm sure I'm not alone. The book is way more than one chapter which I haven't read yet, the portion that I have read I think is outdated in language. We'll have to agree to disagree :0)
