| same planet...different world | First Amendments ... LOL
... well, I've gotten off to a wonderful start, I think. HP is putting people in my path right and left the last few days. On Thursday, I ran into two people from the bar, so I stopped right then and there, and made my amends to them. We wound up standing in the parking lot at Wal mart ... for over an hour. Hugs all around ... and I FLOATED to the car. I composed and sent a letter to the owner of the bar ... I will see if he wants to meet. I know he will, he's a fabulous person and he cared about me very much. But we might argue about who's going to pay for lunch. In fact, I know we will. it felt ... GREAT !!!!! I know that, for me, the biggest fear about working the steps was ... the DREAD of making amends. I see it time and again in the rooms, and I read it quite a bit here at SR. That's how I know I wasn't alone in that fear. We newcomers get so stressed about step seven and eight ... we go back out before even trying to work steps one two and three. I hope that, maybe if someone reads over and over about the FREEDOM and BLESSINGS that come from working the steps ... it will encourage them to focus on WHERE THEY ARE rather than fear a shadowy future. It's incredible. And it really does work ... when you work it.

Thank you for posting this, you've allayed some of my fears regarding that step. Congrats on your progress :0)
