AA Thought for the Day May 17, 2007 Blessings AA and the steps of recovery have shown me how to look at events in a different way. I can now understand how some things, which once seemed like major disasters, turned out to be blessings. Certainly my alcoholism fits that category. I am truly a grateful alcoholic today. I do not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it. Those events that once made me feel ashamed and disgraced now allow me to share with others how to become a useful member of the human race. Thanks for posting this thought, Carol. Seems like I have to remind myself two dozen times every day that I'm right where I'm supposed to be, my higher power gives me everything I need. Every moment sober is a blessing.

| I have noticed that the more grateful I am for small blessings the faster they happen in my life! It's a win win deal!

This is so true: I can now understand how some things, which once seemed like major disasters, turned out to be blessings. That continues to be the situation in my life over and over and that is why I have to try to remember not to judge anything that happens, good or bad. I can color situations with my opinion about whether it is a good or bad thing to happen.
