Hi, I'm AD, and I'm an alcoholic. I left a detox/rehab earlier this evening and did the right thing and went straight to an AA mtg. I'm not a newcomer to recovery, as I had 3+ years prior to relapsing 4 months ago.
I have to admit that I'm really scared. In the last 4 months, I've been through 3 detoxes and this time, I'm ready to return my will to my higher power and I'm waving the white flag.
Anyway, that's it for me. I just wanted to put myself out there. I've got a feeling that this place may well be a nice little tool to use in my recovery. Not a replacement for mtgs., but a resource, nonetheless.

Hey AD, glad to see you here. I have to say that it always scares me to hear about people who have put together a significant amount of time without alcohol and then return. I know it does happen. If you will, would you describe what was going on, your state of mind, etc. that led up to your going back out? Were you working the steps when this happened?
Glad you're hear. Yes, this is a good resource but certainly not a replacement for meetings. What were you doing (or not doing) when you starting drinking again after 4 years of sobriety?
