Hi,

I'm new to this board looking for answers for my sister. She is an alcoholic and last night called me asking for help. This is a huge step for her because she has never admitted that she has a problem.

So she was looking on line and is now really upset about what can happen during withdrawal. She said she read that there is a possibility of death so she is really freaked out.

Here's her story...

Has to drink in the morning to get rid of the shakes. She's a bartender and sneaks a drink in the afternoon to get rid of the shakes and then drinks 4-6 drinks after work.

She has no insurance to cover the cost of a rehab center and doesnt know how to quit drinking without serious withdrawal symptoms.

Any suggestions?
