Hi Annie
Tramadol or Ultram has addictive qualities.
It does effect your brain chemistry and acts as an /SSRI. It can also cause seizures in some patients.
It is a very effective pain reliever and when taken along with Acetaminophen Extra Strength, the effect is augmented and presumably safe. This "brand name" with the two drugs combined is known as Ultracet.
I can take this med once in a while. I get side effects like pounding heart and it appears that when the day after I take it, I am sensitive and depressed. I found when I stay away from it, I am much better emotionally. I get the same thing with Vicodin. No heart pounding but unusually depressed the day after I take it. It works fabulously on the pain but at this poiint I would rather suffer the physical pain then the emotional pain.
So it seems I am just the opposite of Mike.
Just some personal observations, Annie.
Love you...
Starr
