I too am on 150 mg of effexor as well as 1 mg of risperdal and .5mg of Clonazepam. I have been on the effexor for 7 months, and the others for just a week. I really didn't want to pork up any further than my middle age spread has taken me too, i am glad to here about Geodon. Will be checking into that shortly thanks.
I read another thread by you John. You have been through alot as a child.(i hope i have the same John) So you have done well considering and talking about it is important to help mend that scratched skipping record that goes around in your head so that you can play it through and put it back on the shelf or in the garbage.
I can't really say how well the effexer has worked for me becouse i have (had) a serious addiction to the drug called Booze. Been clean for allmost a month and i feel really good.(Duh!) But week 2 of being clean and also in a stressfull inviroment(recovery home) i went into some sort of insane paranoid DT or somthing (youll have to ask my new psyciatrist for the clinical term). I really didn't want to go on any more drugs especialy the seditive clonazipam(might as well have a beer) But hey i am not depressed lol and i have been scared straight.
I wonder if i ever needed effexer or if it was just the drink that made me so depressed. Or mabye becouse i have allways self medicated i have no coping skills, hmmmm. I too had a ruff childhood, but not as tuff as you man. Keep up the good work and lets get well together. Any phyciatrists out there please chime in.........as long as you take payapal.
