Sexual abuse is serious anywhere.It is serious in homes across the world...we don't need to go knocking family's down to 'prove' that.............I do not seek my recovery through AA/NA, and don't even agree with all their philospohy's.........BUT there are GOOD people there...and I have no doubt they are doing everything they can to prevent this............It's not like AA just "attracts" sexual pervs.............but some people with alcohol/drug issues are sicko's in the worst sense of the word.....AA doesn't produce them or give them a 'sanctuary" ................there are sicko's everywhere.
