I have 7 dwi's and the last three I got within three years. In Missouri that is a felony! They took my drivers liscense for 10 years, sentenced me to 4 years in prison (suspended), 30 days in the county jail, and gave me 5 years probation. As I look back I see where it was the best thing for me. At the time I was devasted, but today I have 7 1/2 years sober and clean, a God in my life that will never leave or forsake me, material blessings, good friends and many other things. All of the promises on page 83 of the Big Book have come true....all of them! I still have 7 months 25 days till I am able to drive, but who's counting.......I don't want to go back to my old way of life, and by taking life one day at a time, going to meetings, having a sponsor, reading the Bible and Big Book, and not taking that first drink or drug....life is good.
You will see this as a blessing later.........this is a fact about working the program of AA.........thanks for letting me share, and for helping me stay sober today.....toad
