Yep, my family's predisposition to it and my weight issues have finally led to a diabetic diagnosis. (Well, they said borderline diabetic, but it doesn't seem to take many carbs before I get sick...and sometimes sleepy).
This came out of left field for me...
They said my gluclose level (over a 3-month span) was an 11....nearly double what it's suppose to be they said.
So....a new SUGARLESS and CARBLESS diet! I never knew that potatoes and even wheat bread could be so bad for you...those are my two main things other than my off and on cravings for sweets and chinese food...lol.
Any suggestions about "good" and easy kinds of foods for a diabetic diet?
I'm making the switch to diet soda (yucky poo)
And looking at labels to see how much sugar and carbs the item has....but it leaves out SO MANY options for me since I don't cook unless it's in the microwave and my freezer doesn't work so that means no t.v. dinners and such.
I'm having to reluctantly boycott all white foods....
