Please, please, please call someone!!!!!
As I sat down to write a note I got a call from the woman I spoke to at my first AA meeting last week. I gave her my phone number and took hers. She's called me twice to check on me and this time she emphasised how important it is to call someone, anyone and ask for help. She said that the people who call make it and those who try and "go it alone" usually don't. I had to pass this on since it was so timely that I was reminded that reaching out is such a critical part of recovery. Call the AA hotline, check the website for local meeting times, or just go. You don't need an appointment to go to a meeting. If nothing else it at least get's you started on the path to recovery while you check out all your options and wait for your doctor appointment.
Please do it for yourself as soon as possible. There is no harm to have gone to a meeting and you may actually feel really good afterwards.
