Hi, Joe...I commend you first of all for kicking benzos; in order for anyone to offer any words of advice, however, it might be helpful to know what you have been diagnosed with. If you have had benzos prescribed to you by a doctor, there are certainly less complicated routes to take. If your mental health issues are extensive, it could be detrimental to go "cold turkey" with all medications (unless directed by a physician). I actually work with medications of all types, and it is part of my job to dispense everything from anti-psychotics to laxitives.
Whether or not you decide that medication is the route you want to take, I would suggest finding some Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous meetings in your area. Often, these can be used in combination with psychotherapy with some very good results.
Whatever route you choose, give yourself a break and remember that getting your life back will probably not happen over night. If you decide to attend twelve-step meetings, you will find people who can identify with the pain of addiction and help you with your own pain.
God luck, we will all be sending healing thoughts your way!
I hope to hear how it goes for you...
