I took antidepressants (Effexor) for seven years. I suffered form depression for more than 20 years.
I am happy to say I am now medication -free, and I am managing my depression with Omega-3 oils, vitamin D, vitamin B, and magnesium. (and daily exercise, and a sugar-free diet)
All of these vitamins and minerals have been found to be in very low supply in the bodies of people who suffer from chronic depression.
I'm now a true believer in alternative approaches to the treatment of depression. I can't speak to whether these approaches would help bipolar or Schizophrenia, but I know it is working for me, and I am very thankful for that.
