"For migraine sufferers who need fast relief of morning migraines or migraines with rapid onset, an IMITREX Injection (IMITREX STATdose System®*) can provide fast relief.

The usual dose is 1 injection. Some people have relief of their pain within 10 minutes (for IMITREX 6 mg and placebo, respectively, relief at 10 minutes: 16% and 4%; at 30 minutes: 49% and 12%) after using IMITREX Injection; most people get relief within 1 hour. If after 1 hour you have no relief at all, consult your doctor. If you have some relief after 1 hour, or if your migraine comes back, you can take a second dose. Always wait 1 hour before taking another dose. Do not use more than 2 injections in 24 hours. Be sure to follow the dosing instructions given to you by your doctor.

"The most common side effects are soreness and redness in the area where it was injected (usually goes away within an hour), unusual sensations (eg, tingling, warm/hot sensations), dizziness, and flushing. Other side effects may occur. Be sure to tell your doctor about any that you experience."

I have had migraines for 40 years and sometimes I have gotten them daily. It is not common to get daily migraines over a long period, but I have talked to other people who have had daily migraines also.

I tried Imitex, but didn't feel it worked well for me so returned to my usual med.
