jjaa,

How do you feel after you eat? Do you feel overly-full. Meals should be eaten slowly, or you run the risk of over-eating. Twenty to thirty minutes per meal. From the information I've read, it takes this amount of time for your brain to register that you've had enough to eat. Eating too quickly causes people to over-eat. Of course it's not always the quantity but the calorie and fat content as well.

Your right about the mental part. Right now I am the heaviest I've ever been, about 30 pounds overweight. I don't overeat, and I eat nutritious. I put on the weight after I had a baby at 41. I'm 46 now. I know partly it's due to my metabolism slowing down, and also I don't exercise like I used to. As females I think many of us get that after menopause weight, and it's very hard to get it off. Moderate exercise is the key.

Do you walk or anything?
