I am no longer the eternal optimist that I once was, this led to disappointment too many times. But what I have discovered is that even when I don't get the best, when my wishes don't come true, often it is because God has other plans for me and I have learned to trust that these plans are even better than what I had wished for.
Hindsight has shown me that when life leads me to a different path, the new path has its own gifts, beauty and surprises just waiting for me.
So today, expecting the best is simply me accepting that whatever the day holds is good for me, that there is beauty there if I am willing to open my eyes and see it.
