The "set-aside" prayer is in CA (Cocaine Anonymous) literature.
While CA is a great organization, there are areas where it has become a definite cult (such as the area I live now). The "members" are often over-zealous and demonstratively fixated on the perfection they claim. They are required to go through an indoctrination by "approved sponsors" and only associate with those that have been indoctrinated.
Unfortunately in our area it is dominated by meth and heroin addicts that tried coke drank sometimes and resent AA members.
When I go to those meetings, I see many cocaine/crack - users/addicts that leave and never come back.
It's a good prayer often twisted to fit the absurd zealots demanding control and domination over others.
We have seen this attempt lately in many posts/threads.
Time to set this personality aside.

Make no mistake Ed,
you are a newcomer that would do more to help yourself by listening than pontificating these tenets.
For some, detox takes five years.
For all of us, integration takes a lifetime.
Keep coming back!
