I wrote this at the start of my recovery.

One Day at a Time

All I want is recovery
Cuz I don't want no more me
How I wish that all could see
Happiness is recovery

I've a long way to go
But I feel & I know
I see it happenin before my eyes
Relating with people, is such a suprise

I'm only here on step 1
Already I feel, my recovery's begun
Number 12 seems so far away
I've got to take it day by day

I want to live sober & clean
Having control was only a dream
The cunningness of my addiction
Brought me to this control afliction

I know now that I'm powerless
And my higher power, I must address
He's the one to take it from me
Only He can restore my sanity.
