" I said a prayer as I cried to the Lord "
" I prayed for Him to help me fight this war "
" The battle of addiction and all my afflictions "
" I really felt I needed to be tought a lesson "
" Two days later, I was in court getting a conviction "
" I just had to to honest when I spoked to my Pd "
" He asked why I stop reporting to probation "
" And I admited I suffered from a bad disease "
" I told him I coul'nt function "
" That I needed some time away "
" I was sent to jail, which Is better than hell "
" Now I stand here in Gateway "
" Blessed to be clean One More Day "
I wrote this poem 3 years ago while Incarcerated. I joined gateway while in jail. When i was released i managed to stay clean almost a year, but i ended up using again. But now i am in treatment and I'm staying clean. Thanks to my higher power.
