I know I was diagnosed as possibly borderline when I was in active addiction. I think when we are using we manifest all kinds of symptoms of various psychiatric disorders. It takes a while, like some months, to get to where an accurate diagnosis is possible.
As far as your question about complete recovery goes, BPD IS tough to treat, but it is treatable. I'm not entirely sure what you consider complete recovery. I know I have some kind of personality disorder and I'm doing very well these days mentally. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk about your symptoms more specifically, OK?
