I have a similar perspective.

Would I think bees were evil or hate bees if I were allergic to them?
Would I think peanuts were evil or hate them if I had a peanut allergy?
Would I hate Springtime and the flowers just because I had hay fever?
No, I would not.
The same goes for how I view alcohol. When alcohol enters my body I have a negative reaction similar to an allergy. Alcohol in and of itself is not to blame. It is just one of those things in life that I should avoid if I want to prevent negative outcomes for myself.

There are people who are able to drink. I have friends who drink "normally." These are people who can walk away from the table and leave a half consumed glass of wine sitting there. My brain never could allow that in fact my brain told me that wasting alcohol was "alcohol abuse." Just because I have a negative reaction to something that should not mean that others should not be able to enjoy it or that it is evil in and of itself
