It's an anti psychotic, mood stabilizer drug, as it was explained to me.
If I remember correctly, 800 mgs a day was the maximum daily dose indicated by the manufacturer.
I have friends with severe conditions who are prescribed more than 800 mgs, also in combination with lithium and anti depressants.
Talk to the doctor who prescribed it.
