Congrats on 46 days. It is day 48 today and like you, far from dropping pounds easily after stopping drinking, I am easily still about 30 pounds overweight.
IMO, a running (cardio) workouts are the most efficient way to drop lbs quickly and healthily. Maybe try signing up for a 5k and aiming for that would give an added incentive? There are "couch to 5k" plans on coolrunning.com The site tells you about runner groups for all different levels in your area and races too.
An added benefit is running is cheap once you have a nice pair of sneaks. The challenge right now is the weather, but that should be getting better in a few weeks!
