Hi Mareah,
I do have an opinion on antidepressants.
I suffered from depression all my life and was never diagnosed and treated correctly. It wasn't my late forties that I finally found the answer for me. I had to try 3 different antidepressants and then 3 different dosages of the one I'm using now to get it working for me. So, I'd say, don't give up on antidepressants if you haven't tried a few.
And, I used to think 'what's the use, I just don't like myself, in fact, who would?', but, for me meds worked. Now, I don't wake up with a smile every day, but when I feel down, it's something I can deal with and it's relatively brief.
I don't know how ritalin would be combined with other meds. Do you take ritalin for ADD?
Hang in there.
Love, Anna
