I have one other thing to add..... although he is not drinking, you might want to check out the friends and familis forum for Alcoholics, where Al Anon is discussed. Even through he has stopped drinking, you still might be feeling the effects of his alcoholism.

You need to recover from the family disease of alcoholism. And it is a family disease.

BTW I've had 2 suicide attempts........ I won't tell you what I did except to say that it was pretty bad. And one accidental due to alcohol poisening
