chemical problems Prozac?

Hi!
New to this area of SR...
chemical question... is it possible that something like Prozac could produce or cause the same symptoms it is trying to help? Example... my husband was prescribed fluoxetine for depression. The results were lack of energy and motivation, with a side of " I don't really care, whatever". He told me that he actually felt MORE compelled to do drugs when he was on it than when he wasn't on it. Almost like, his moods had levelled out so much that he didn't care about the difference between right and wrong. Like he was so even-keeled that it wasn't a big deal. Says when he doesn't take it (the Prozac), he feels like he understands the urgency behind the reasoning for not doing the drugs. I notice a difference in his personality also. On the prozac (which I was hoping was the miracle cure for his depression), he was in a fog which I couldn't reach him. He was almost bed-ridden, no energy, non-caring... Could it be he was mis-diagnosed? I'm hesitant to contact the drug counselor that prescribed it. She also prescribed trazadone to a coke addict... A sleeping pill for a druggie? Is she kidding? Of course he says he can't sleep! He knows he'll get drugs out of it!!!!
