I am sorry that your kids are dealing with that. I am always nervous about posting on child issues threads, but I have experienced that behavior from a parent.
I grew up with a single Dad who constantly broke promises to me and my sister. It hurt and really damaged my self esteem (something I am working on now). I never felt worthy of respect and someone to keep promises as a result of that childhhood.
It would have been great to have one parent who kept their word and was dependable. I think your kids are pretty lucky to have you!
