It is not obvious to an alcoholic that they have a problem. That is one of the many aspects of the condition. If you have asked your family to help, and you are on this forum writing posts, and you also are looking for AA meetings, then you almost certainly have a drinking problem.

While you are drinking it can be very subtle as to if you do or do not have a drinking problem. But, look at the facts that I listed above and you may have the answer.

I used to ask my wife to help me in my drinking, then when she would get rid of alcohol, or hide my wallet so that I couldn't run to the store I would get so pissed.

She was just doing what I asked her to do.

Keep reading, and be open minded regarding AA. I wish I had started AA years ago. I certainly could have used it. AA isn't perfect but my home group of friends helps me stay sober and that is why I keep showing up!
