I consider myself in recovery from an ED, actually several branches.
I find that I do much better with three meals and one snack. I also monitor what I eat. It's much easier to manage when I eat healthfully and avoid my personal triggers.
Actually, for me the what I eat is more important than a particular regiment of when I eat it. Both are important however. I'm a big proponent of a low/healthy carb diet. Once I kicked those low-value carby things to the curb, things got easier to manage over longer periods of time on a real, identifiable diet of food.
