Um... Outvoid, I take it you've heard of suboxone, methadone, etc.... It's a well known concept and is not limited to just opiate addiction... And, I agree completely that NA is the way to recover from drug addiction, but opiate withdrawal needs to be handled by medical professionals, not laymen...

Livinglife.... Tramadol has been used the way your doctor is prescibing it. I wouldn't conclude that he is incompetent or uncaring based on that alone. If you are not comfortable with him, find another doctor.

Hopefully some other folks will be along that have a little more experience here...
