| Okay, I don't think my answer qualifies as offering medical advice, as your doctor has already prescribed the mirtazapine. Having said that, you should really voice your concerns to him/her, as it's extremely important to fully trust your doctor's advice.
My experience: Under my doctor's supervision, I've safely used mirtazapine (Remeron), both alone and in combination with other meds (including SSRIs), with excellent results. It definitely helps straighten out my sleeping patterns, along with my anxiety and depression.
Again, you should really let your doctor know about your concerns. I hope this combination works for you... good luck
