Hi crisco,

Congratulations on finding your own personal higher power. I have found that my own higher power is me - and my choice to not drink. I realize I may be chastised or chided by many, that's okay. At least I am still sober for the last 3 years, 10 months, 16 days, 17 hours and 34 minutes (but who's counting?)

I agree with you that living sober can be accomplished without pledging allegiance to a specific deity. To paraphrase a great philosopher (I believe it was Baruch Spinoza), "God does not meddle in the personal affairs of his followers or dissenters. God is busy making sure that nature and the universe function properly."

I wish you strength, peace, a drama free life and success at continued sobriety.
