sorry bout the title of the thread.....
i was wondering not about favorite quotes but a quote that you just ran into that made the little light in your head flicker on and maybe lit up a dark corner in your mind.
i was getting out some of my old self-help books that have been sitting on the shelf forever....thought i might read some of them tomorrow. I picked up How to get what you want and want what you have by John Gray. And it fell open so I just looked at that page and I had highlighted:
When you pray, God only does the part that you can't do.
For some reason, my light bulb went on. I've heard the gist of that said in other ways but it just really made sense to me tonite. Whatever I want, I need to do whatever it is in my power-that I am capable of doing to get it and then let go and let God as they say. Makes a lot of sense for my recovery right now. I have to do my part - even if it's a struggle, if I am capable of doing it, I have to do my part.
Anyway, just wanted to share that. I'm a quote collector. I love quotes and the way they can mean different things to different people or different things at different times. Anyone else have a light bulb moment with a quote?
