Clay I think it would be a great idea for you to go to many more meetings, and try and get to step meetings also. There is a book called the 12 steps and 12 traditions which explains the steps but its a good idea to get a sponsor and take it one step at a time. You have already admitted you are powerless but sometimes it takes a little more work to accept that at gut level. Its a simple programme, but some of us complicate it.
