I'm not a doctor and we can't hand out medical advice here, but I'd also suggest getting a second opinion. From my experience with taking SSRI's, sometimes a dosage adjustment is necessary, and sometimes it's necessary to try something different. It also takes awhile for your brain chemistry to get accustomed to any med, and we're all going to have different experiences.
As far as the lonely feelings, I'm a firm believer that I'm only as lonely as I make myself. Sometimes I've got to plow through the discomfort and throw myself out there. God always takes it from there by putting people in my life to help me along.
I'll keep my fingers crossed and say a prayer that you get a second chance at that interview, and hope you keep doing the next right thing.
