I got the book today (Thanks 1 Day!!) and just started reading it. I have a hard time concentrating for more than about a minute or two at a time without my mind wandering, so I find myself having to re-read sentences several times as I really want to understand and follow the concepts.
I've read the introductions and part of the first chapter. I like what I have read so far. The basic concept, as I'm understanding it, is to stay focused on the present. Guilt of the past can only harm you, and there truly is nothing you can do about it. The same with the fear of the future. If you can somehow just concentrate on RIGHT NOW, this very second, this very moment in time, you can find peace, or love, as the author defines it.
This makes a great deal of sense to me, though like most "simple" concepts, is much easier said than done!! I think if I can focus on this when I get "off center" this can help. I do have tremendous guilt about the past, and I currently have so many question marks about my future that I do fear it. None of this is doing anything positive for me though, so I shouldn't give it the control over my life that I do.
I'll post more about it when I read a bit more this weekend. Thanks again.
