As soon as my shrink learned I was alcoholic he yanked me off Ativan, well, not yanked, but wrote no more scrip for it. I'm taking Neurontin and Buspar now for anxiety and it helps without being addictive, and without the "relaxation" of the benzos.
My current anxiety is mostly situational, with two teenage girls living at home this summer!!! So dealing with them is difficult, no matter what anti anxiety meds I'm taking.
