I have been struggling with anxiety related to PTSD and bipolar type II for almost 10 years now. For the past 7 years I have had a prescription for klopine which I have taken as prescribed, as needed for attacks. It has worked ok as in it has allowed me to function better than I would have without the medication but still has not addressed the chronic undercurrent of anxiety I have lived with.

Recently, a few weeks ago, my psych doc and I discussed other options for therapy. Buspar being added to my current treatment seemed like the most viable option for me. I have been very pleasantly surprised as this medication has significantly reduced my overall anxiety and has reduced my attacks from several a week to so far this week none.

If you are looking for options it might be a med you would want to consider speaking to your doctor about.

The side effects were rough for the first couple of weeks. Nausea, dry mouth, sleepiness, etc... But they did clear and even if they had not I think I would have continued the medication because for me the benefits outweighed the side effects.
