For the Treatment, here is what I am looking for:

Ok, I hear what *you* are looking for.
What is it your *father* is looking for? It is he that will be going through the treatment and living with the consequences of it.
Dual diagnoses is not to be taken lightly. The lack of treatment for my son's bipolar disorder has kept him on his addiction for 15 years now. It may be fine and good that *you* don't think he needs meds; or that *you* think meds are over - prescribed. Heck, I may even agree with you! But, that is irrelevant.
What your dad needs* is the ONLY thing that matters. And that will be up to the docs and him. He must be a partner in his recovery -- at every stage.
There are many good treatment centers in New England. What state are you in? Mass has excellent dual diagnoses treatment. And Mass and CT both have medical coverage for those without; something most addicts lack. RI is lacking sorely in both, though if he is in medical need, he cannot be turned away.
I do strongly suggest you go to alanon, concernedson. I know that you care deeply about your dad. But, this is *his* recovery. You have your own issues to work through. You cannot do this for him, nor can you tell him how he has to do it.
The friends and families of addicts forum may be helpful for you too. Here's a link for it.
