Making a decision to be well is the first step in getting better, that is true.
But, as Nandm states,
Endogenious mental illness is not just a matter of pulling yourself up by your boot straps.

Once a person makes the decision to get well,
The process in doing so often includes medication and therapy
along with compliance and rigerous honesty with the doc about side effects.
It also requires the person to take care of themself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, for optimal health. That takes a lot of work.

The decision to get well, therefor, is only the first step.
It's a necessary step, but, it's only the beginning.

Like Lao te sung said:
"The journey of a thousand miles
begins with the first step."

I'm glad you've recognized that first step.
Join us for the rest of the journey.

Shalom!
