I've been watching from the beginning. TNG is my favorite too.
Star Trek came out about the same time as the Twilight Zone, Lost in Space, and the old Outer Limits.
Trekker is the new word they use, but it will always be Trekkie to me.
I actually got in an argument over that in a Matinée one day. Some dumb kid snubbed his nose and rolled his eyes at me when I used "Trekkie". I just ended up telling him I never started with a rerun, lol, and it was "Trekkie" before he was born. I don't care what anyone calls it, just don't tell me I'm wrong.
I think that makes me a die hard fan.
