The first posts that went into the forum were posts that members and moderators chose that they liked. The owner at the time was going to prune posts and we were saving our favorites.
There were 2 forums run by professionals. When they left we closed the forums and moved all the posts in those forums over to the Best of Soberrecovery to save them.
I run across a thread now and then that I think should go in that forum and copy it over to the forum. I don't read a lot so that makes the choice of threads really random and there are probably many other great threads that could go in the forum. The moderators can also move threads over, but they are really busy and may not think of it.
