Hi there TooMutch, and have a (((( hug )))). A gentle one cuz I know it hurts

I don't have fibro, but I do have a related inflamatory disease called Autonomic Neuropathy. I went thru a number of diagnosis, including fibro, before the docs finally figure out what was going on. Those sudden pains you describe, like a needle jamming into the skin for no apparent reason, is exactly what I get. From what I have heard from other neuropathy people I know, and from my docs, it's a pretty common symptom of nerve inflamation.

Besides praying, I have done quite a bit of doctor shopping. I now have a team of docs that _listens_ to my needs and is willing to experiment with various meds until we found a "recipe" that works for me. For example, I am taking steroids (which suppress inflamation) and Depakote, which is usually given to folks with epilepsy.

That recipe works really good for me. Ok, so I'm not dancing in the streets, but I can hold down a desk job. I know that last thing I wanted to do when I was very ill was go doctor shopping, but I am really glad I did.

Dunno if any of that does you any good. Know that you are in my prayers every day.

Mike
