With both my parents in recovery, Ive been around AA pretty much my whole life. My Dad did a lot of speaking at pot-luck gatherings. I remember growing up thinking I never wanted to become and alcoholic. I didn't want to be like those people. My first meeting.. My GF at the time had a brother-in-law that was sober and attending AA. I sought him out for help. He took me to AA and has been my sponsor ever since.
