| An Inner Peace and Feeling of Belonging
So much of life is complicated. The spiritual experience or awakening need not be complicated. Many of the men and women I know in AA believe that the physic change Dr. Silkworth mentions is in fact this spiritual experience and that the sum total of a human being does in fact encompass more than our phyiscal and emotional wellbeing. The only obstacle to the spiritual is personal acceptance. Today's Daily Reflection that CarolD so diligently serves us with is this;
"A spiritual experience can be the realization that a life which once seemed empty and devoid of meaning is now joyous and full. In my life today, daily prayer and meditation, coupled with living the Twelve Steps, has brought about an inner peace and feeling of belonging which was missing when I was drinking."
These simple statements tell me all I need to know about the spiritual experience. There is nothing in this quote that causes me doubt, concern or is easily dismissed out of hand. I can do this daily with ease and find peace. So can you.
